BDS Products: Gas Suppression

HFC 227 EA known as FM-200™/FE227™
This is chosen to protect occupied areas such as computer rooms and the fast expanding telecommunications market. Its low extinguishing concentration of 7.5% by volume for Class A risks, its high level of personnel safety and absence of toxicity makes it a very attractive option.
Inert gases
Inergin™, Argonite™ and Nitrogen are suitable for total flooding of enclosed spaces, where specifying a non-chemical product is of over-riding importance, where speed of operation is not a major consideration, or where cylinder storage space is readily available or, at least, is not at a premium price.
Co2 - Carbon Dioxide
A colourless, odourless, electrically non-conductive agent for the protection of vital services. In many instances water is not a suitable extinguishing medium, for example, where electrical equipment is concerned or clean up time is vital, a gaseous extinguishing agent is the only option.
HFC-125
Rreplacing HALON 1301, known as FE25™ and ECARO-25™, a drop in replacement for Halon using existing pipework. The ECARO-25™ system reduces the cost of conversion and minimises business interruption when replacing Halon 1301 in total flooding systems.
Integrity Testing
It is vital that any fire protection system delivers the performance expected of it, which is why room integrity testing is so critical and why it is recommended that it be repeated every 12 months as part of the statutory maintenance requirements.
